There are many different types of sharks. The one to keep an eye on, is the one that eats its' own kind .

Curtis--I appreciate your link to the 2012 budget, but can you provide links to budgets for previous years of this administration? I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to see those. I realize that Congress has to pass the budgets. But for the first two years of office, Obama had a blank check because the house was controlled by a Democratic majority. It seems to me it wasn't until the majority changed that I started seeing budget proposals come out. I've seen a tremendous amount of corruption from this and other administrations. Charlie Rangel? Barney Frank? I also know both sides are guilty of corruption. My point is that our country's leader should be qualified, and I'm not going to complain without providing a solution, which is why I'm going to do a Job Task Analysis (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Job_analysis) for the position of President of the United States, so everyone knows what kind of skills and experience they should be looking for in a candidate.

Thanks for your input!

Corruption? How so? The examples you cite are primarily Congressional negotiations on Congressional bills. Yes, it's true that seeing how the sausage is made is not pretty. But it wouldn't be likely to be prettier with other Congresspeople in charge.

This administration has not had a corruption scandal yet, even though the oppsition party controls one House of Congress and the press clearly would run with one. Why do you think that is? Maybe they're NOT as "corrupt" as you think.

Hi Tab. You know the president is required to submit a budget every year, and this year was no exception. http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/Overview/. It fulfills the president's promise to cut the deficit he inherited in half by the end of his first term

The NY TImes says: "Mr. Obama used his budget for the fiscal year 2012 and beyond to make the case for selectively cutting spending while increasing resources in areas like education and clean energy initiatives that hold the potential for long-term payoffs in economic growth. With this year’s deficit projected to hit a record, $1.6 trillion, he laid out a path for bringing down annual deficits to more sustainable levels over the rest of the decade. "

But even though the president has submitted a budget, it is not up to him but up to our representatives in Congress to actually write and pass one. Right now COngressional Republicans seem more interested in playing chicken with our overseas creditors and with investor faith in the USA than with working out a budget that can pass (this is a reference to raising our so-called "debt ceiling"), but that could change.
